Enterprise Warehouse Digitization for Cold Chain Export
Replacing manual tracking with real-time, auditable warehouse operations
01 / Business Challenge
Cold storage operators running export operations live and die by accuracy. A single misplaced pallet, an unclear chamber assignment, or an untracked stock movement damages customer trust and export readiness.
Most operators still run these workflows on paper and spreadsheets — creating operational risk, weak accountability, and no real-time visibility for the customers who own the goods.
02 / Solution
An enterprise warehouse management system built specifically for cold storage export operations. It gives operators real-time stock visibility, chamber and yard control, inbound/outbound workflow management, and a customer portal where each client sees only their own inventory.
The product was sold as operational reliability and customer transparency — the things cold storage operators compete on — not as "software."
03 / Execution
I led the engagement from first client conversation to delivered system: scoped the operational problem, broke cold storage workflows into inbound, chamber allocation, movement, adjustment, outbound, and yard management, and built the platform to enterprise standard.
Key execution decisions:
- Immutable inventory ledger — every movement is append-only, because audit trail is non-negotiable for export compliance.
- Customer portal by design — filtered stock visibility built from day one, since operators differentiate on transparency.
- FIFO by default — outbound orders auto-allocate oldest stock first to meet perishable-goods compliance.
04 / Business Impact
The system increased operational visibility, reduced manual dependency, and strengthened customer trust through transparent, real-time inventory. It laid the foundation for analytics and multi-customer operations — turning a manual back office into a defensible, scalable service.
