Export Opportunity Intelligence for Trade & Commerce

Turning fragmented export research into structured, data-backed market decisions

01 / Business Challenge

Indonesian exporters too often enter new markets on instinct. Export research is scattered across HS codes, trade volumes, macroeconomic signals, and competitive intel — so business development teams fall back on gut feeling and miss high-potential destinations.

The commercial cost is real: wasted market-entry spend, slow decision cycles, and opportunities left on the table.

02 / Solution

A decision-support platform that converts fragmented export research into a structured workflow. Exporters map a product to global trade data, benchmark destination countries, score opportunities across multiple dimensions, and receive AI-generated strategic insight they can act on.

The product was positioned as a business intelligence tool for decision-makers — not a data dashboard for analysts.

03 / Execution

I owned the engagement end-to-end: defined the exporter's decision problem, shaped the opportunity-scoring model, mapped the research workflow across trade, macro, and risk signals, and led both product direction and implementation.

Key execution decisions:

  • Explainable scoring over black-box AI — opportunity and risk use transparent, deterministic weights so exporters can defend the recommendation to leadership.
  • Open trade data over paid feeds — kept the product accessible and scalable without data-licensing overhead.
  • Holistic comparison over raw tables — radar visualization lets decision-makers compare markets at a glance.

04 / Business Impact

The platform moves exporters from manual research to structured, data-backed opportunity discovery — faster market prioritization, clearer export decisions, and a repeatable research process leadership can trust.

It became a reference case for how AI-assisted intelligence can shorten the distance between a business question and a confident commercial decision.
